What Can You Buy with a Cineplex Gift Card?

A Cineplex Gift Card can be used toward eligible cinema-related purchases.

Depending on the cinema and voucher type, eligible purchases may include:

  • Standard movie tickets

  • 2D movie tickets

  • 3D movie tickets

  • D-Box experiences

  • Premium cinema experiences

  • Popcorn

  • Nachos

  • Soft drinks

Always check the individual voucher conditions before booking.

Important: Understanding Cineplex Gift Card Region Restrictions

This version of the Cineplex Gift Card is intended for Germany and is denominated in EUR.

Cineplex Germany officially states that Gift Cards and vouchers from its German shop can be redeemed at Cineplex cinemas across Germany.

A German Cineplex Gift Card should not automatically be expected to work with unrelated Cineplex-branded cinemas or cinema chains in other countries.

Digital delivery does not mean worldwide redemption.

For this product page, the correct positioning is:

Germany Region / EUR / Cineplex Germany

Before purchasing, make sure the recipient intends to visit or book through a Cineplex cinema in Germany.

Yes. Cineplex Germany Gift Cards should be treated as Germany-region cinema vouchers.

The official Cineplex German shop states that vouchers purchased there are redeemable throughout German Cineplex cinemas.

Before purchasing, confirm that the recipient:

  • Is in Germany or plans to visit Germany.

  • Can access a Cineplex Germany cinema.

  • Can use an EUR-denominated voucher.

  • Understands that the voucher is not a general international cinema Gift Card.

Yes. Cineplex cinema vouchers are generally valid for three years from the date of purchase.

Cineplex’s current official FAQ states that cinema vouchers purchased through the shop are valid for three years from purchase, unless a specific product page states a different validity period.

The validity period cannot normally be extended.

Recipients should therefore:

  • Check the purchase date.

  • Review any expiration information shown on the voucher.

  • Use the remaining value before the three-year validity period ends.

If a particular Cineplex product specifies a different expiry, the product-specific terms take priority.

Digital Cineplex Sofortgutscheine are delivered as PDF files by email and therefore do not require physical shipping fees.

For physical Gift Cards, Cineplex currently charges shipping within Germany unless the order qualifies for free shipping.

Current Cineplex Shop payment methods include:

  • Visa

  • Mastercard

  • American Express

  • WERO

  • Apple Pay

  • PayPal

Possible external charges may still include:

  • Card issuer fees

  • Currency-conversion fees

  • Foreign transaction charges

Always review the final checkout total before completing the purchase.

First, confirm that the voucher is being used with Cineplex Germany.

Then check:

  • The voucher is still within its validity period.

  • The voucher code is clearly visible.

  • The voucher has not already been fully used.

  • A remaining balance is available.

  • You are using an eligible Cineplex cinema.

  • The online booking accepts voucher codes.

  • The voucher type is valid for the selected movie or experience.

  • Any required 3D or premium surcharge has been paid.

If using the voucher online, enter the printed voucher code during the payment process.

If the voucher does not include a valid online code, it may only be redeemable at the cinema box office.

If the problem continues, keep:

  • Original PDF voucher

  • Voucher code

  • Order confirmation

  • Payment receipt

  • Error message

and contact Cineplex Germany Support.

Never publicly share an unused voucher code.

No. Cineplex value vouchers can be used over multiple purchases.

Cineplex Germany’s official FAQ states that the Gift Card value may be divided across several transactions during the voucher’s validity period.

For example, if you have a €50 Cineplex value voucher and spend €32, the remaining €18 can generally remain available for another eligible Cineplex purchase.

The remaining value can continue to be used until:

  • The balance reaches zero, or

  • The voucher reaches the end of its validity period

whichever happens first.

Current Cineplex rules state that:

  • Value vouchers can be split across multiple purchases.

  • Standard cinema vouchers are generally valid for three years.

  • Remaining value expires when the voucher’s validity period ends.

  • Cash payout is not permitted.

This makes Cineplex value vouchers different from single-use cinema tickets or fixed ticket vouchers.
